Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education is an important and necessary part of all pupils’ education which helps them develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepare for life and work in modern Britain. Key elements of PSHE are Relationships Education and Health Education.
Pupils are taught how to stay safe right from the start of their time at Lewis Street and PSHE lessons commence in Year 1, continuing through to Year 6. All PSHE lessons are age appropriate and taught with care and sensitivity by teachers and Learning Support Assistants. Pupils are taught PSHE weekly and the curriculum is built around 3 distinct themes:
Health and Wellbeing
Relationships
Living in the Wider World
Revised PSHE policy
Our new policy for PSHE is attached below.
Parent/ Carer questionnaire
Thank you to all parents and carers who responded to our questionnaire in the Autumn term.
Your wishes and opinions are important to us. We are in the process of producing a new Relationships, Health and Sex Education (RHSE) policy, which will be separate from our PSHE policy. It will be published on the website when it is finished.
